Copy Cat Art
The first of the images above is from my sketch and paint journal. I was inspired to practice sketching images from the work of Sophia Arnold. Having recently purchased a sample of Gouache paints along with the journal, and a few other supplies, I ended up painting my practice sketches (Gouache seems easier to use for fine detail, although this might be due to the new paint brushes..... time will tell!) All of the images that follow the first, are of course, Sophia's. For fun, try to find the images I copied in the paintings which follow -- a "Hidden Picture" game for artist! (Do you remember this game from the children's activity magazine Highlights ?) This zine used to be a staple in the waiting room of Pediatricians (at least that is where I remember seeing it). Thank you Stephanie Levy (see her e-course Creative Courage ) for providing the inspiration for the new direction of my blog. I'll be posting more about this course and Stephanie so
