10/24/2018 Took out a piece of scrap watercolor paper to scribble on last night but it turned into an image I kept and posted.  Only problem is I spent too much time on it yet today.  Perhaps if it had been planned better I would not have had to keep re-doing it.   Lesson learned?  The challenge for #Drawlloween, #mabsdrawlloweenclub today is the #huntersmoon.   Here is my final version: Also, today was a milestone because I finally enabled prints to be made of one of my paintings on Etsy through the website Printful.  I had a few problems because I already had a listing for the image for the original piece and it complicated things to add poster prints, but I finally got it to work, although I had to pay another .20 cents, even though it should not have been considered a new entry. Not a big deal, although at this time of the month I am down to zilch in my bank account until Friday.   I may make prints available for a few more items and upload a few more things to my Etsy

10/23/2018 I finished two paintings for Mab Graves Drawllowen yesterday. #mabsdrawlloweenclub, #drawlloween, It is one of the 'knock-offs' or drawing challenges for the month of October.  The original challenge is #Inktober, created by Jake Parker.   The main purpose of these challenges is to encourage daily drawing (or creating)  Themes for each day are provided.   I have painted daily this month, but not everything I have is good enough to post, in part due to my job having sporadic work days,  Of course, I'm in a learning stage and none of my work is as finished as I hope it will be at some point For the Drawlloween day #28 challenge, (Raven) I created the following (and it could count for day #1 witch, although if I have time I would have like to make something more spectacular or the Witch theme. I could work on the face some more. The inspiration for the face is from a drawing by an instagram artist #_verdigo_       I can't link the Instagram page he

A true "Art Eye Love Post": A painting by John Duncan, the Scottish Symbolist: My little painting, The Faun with Birds was inspired by this painting.   I will soon post more of the lovely artist work.  I am inspired to create much more from his work.   Just love it. I sometimes feel that I was 'born in the wrong age" haha.

WIP for Raven day 28 of Drawlloween. It started as a pre-sketch to learn to practice a face in the style of the artist  #_verdigo_  (on Instagram) and will show her piece once I finish this. After working for a bit of time on the Raven, I have decided to finish it. If anyone has any ideas for the background, please feel free to comment! So far a pumpkin patch, raven family or swirling leaves co

Time for a few more watercolor sketches. I've done a little for Inktober as well as Mab Grave's Drawloween. It's been really great to participate when I have had time because I'm creating images that I would not have otherwise. I'm working on one now that I'll post either later or tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll post one that was for the tag "Skeleton" It could certainly be improved, but the main thing is I finished it and posted it to Instagram. A few other things that I failed to post here in the past:

This is a painting I made several months back inspired by the larger fantastic engraving by Hendrick Goltzius of Apollo: My meager little piece was made with the watercolors from Kuretake Gansai: www.kuretake.co.jp  A little about the paint: from what I understand, they are a bit different than Western Watercolors - mainly they include some metallic watercolors and the regular colors are quite vivid.  Another feature is that they "lift" much easier during the painting process.   Watercolor paints that lift easily is a feature I like, as it allows me to make changes a little longer, but apparently, professional watercolorist don't always like this characteristic. Goltzius is interesting to me mainly due to his dramatic figures, which are often depictions of Greek Gods or religious scenes (as was in most demand in those days).  Besides his beautiful depictions of the human body, which are striking even though in black and white (he was an engraver) I find it insp

The name of my blog has always been, "Art EYE Love"   How did the name get changed?    very sad.  I knew I should have registered it, but didn't have the time to look into it, nor funds.  : ( Anyway, here is a painting from over the weekend.  It was so fun to do, because it was unplanned.   These types of paintings don't always turn out, but I like this one.   I may do more to it yet, or start a new one.
